HP iLO

HP iLO is the server remote lights out functionality:

• Provision – install your operating system using tools such as HP Intelligent Provisioning
• Monitor – system health, power and heat statistics
• Optimize – remotely manage your servers in a way that follows your operating models
• Support – access vital information and logs irrespective of system health through the iLO interface

Servers without iLO on the system board could be fitted with either a RIB or RIB2 (RILOE 2 is the official name), both were a PCI based remote interface card which had a separate power supply should the power in the server fail.
