I’ve updated the feed file for FindMyFirmware our free application for the iPhone/iPad and Android, it contains server specifications, averaged manufacturer dates and the current supported firmware information. If you haven’t downloaded it’s free on iTunes and the Android store, and aims to make getting the information you need that little bit easier, the application [...] [...]

HP Proliant firmware versions

For some years now, I’ve made it a habit of mine to put together firmware versions for my own use and I’ve published it ever since on the blog in case people found it useful.  I’ve continued to put a disclaimer basically saying do test it first on your own non customer facing systems and [...] [...]

FindMyFirmware updates

I’m working on my application FindMyFirmware today, specifically I’ll be uploading a new xml feed file to contain the latest firmware versions. If you’ve got FindMyFirmware (we’ve had thousands of downloads in the last months) when you close the application and re-open it, it connects to the internet and automatically downloads the updated file. If you haven’t read about our application, FindMyFirmware, it’s available on iPhone, iPad and Android platforms. It provides you with server information on the move, [...] [...]

HP and IBM Firmware spreadsheets updated

I’ve updated and uploaded new firmware spreadsheets listing HP and IBM servers with their current firmware versions with links to their respective web sites for the release notes and downloads. As ever do check with the vendor first in case any changes have been made, and note that from January IBM is going to require you [...] [...]

FindMyFirmware goes multi-platform

Just over a year ago (yesterday) we announced FindMyFirmware. It was always meant to be a simple concept, making end user information more accessible in this case about servers. It was never meant to earn money, it was an illustration if you will of what could be achieved with a little thought and with a little [...] [...]
