Aculab partners with Dell OEM Solutions to support market growth

Aculab, a leading provider of telephony products to the global communications market, has partnered with Dell OEM Solutions to provide the server platform for the company’s market-leading GroomerII gateway appliance.

Aculab’s GroomerII is used by many large telecommunications providers worldwide for integrating internet-based telephony with traditional telephony systems. Aculab chose to partner with Dell OEM solutions to provide a superior and trusted platform for its gateway and a rapid procurement capability that delivers to short lead times.

“We were impressed with the quality and reliability of Dell OEM Solutions and in particular the Dell PowerEdge R720t server with Intel Xeon processors E5-2600 series, which is certified for use by telecom companies worldwide,” said Chris Brown, engineering and quality manager at Aculab. “The partnership with Dell provides Aculab with server lifecycle control as well as a fully Network Equipment Building System (NEBS) compliant platform, which is critical for our telecom customers in the US that are using GroomerII to support 911 emergency services and to handle calls originating in fixed and mobile Signalling System 7 networks.”

An interesting announcement and it reminds us of the ongoing commitment that Dell have in their OEM solutions business, which not only allows partners to have systems designed to meet their needs but also creates innovation and opportunities which can be leveraged across the Dell product portfolio. Being able to OEM a solution can be transformational for a service provider as it allows them to leverage industry standard technologies through a supportable and scalable platform.
