Thanks for a great Discover

Thanks to the events team for a great time at HP Discover, I thorougly enjoyed my time at HP Discover, the keynotes were interesting and covered various topics, the sessions were informative and I really enjoyed the bloggers discussions.

I got asked by a colleague on the way home as I waited for the plane back to London what I took away from both the event and the key note. Which is a great question, I responded with the following, it was unscripted but remains valid nonetheless:

The key message was we are where we are (in respect to challenges this year), we have a clear strategy to engage with our customers and empower them to meet their business goals. That HP has to continue offering a range of services meeting diverse markets, the printer through to the enterprise wanting to deploy a new data center or business in a developing economy.

One of stability, of commitment and resolve to innovate and renew HP through empowering its teams to focus on customer needs and opportunities for next generation requirements and economies.

Highlights:

  • HP Storage announcements – particularly around HP StoreAll Express Query and expanding tier one technologies to midrange storage solutions
  • Learning more about  the range of HP Cloud and Converged solutions
  • Speaking with more of the team at Autonomy to learn about their offerings and value proposition
  • HP Mission Critical Awards – it was valuable to remind ourselves how technology can be used to deliver real business and social benefits to its users – to remind us that the technology is there to provide a service to our customers
  • HP ElitePad andHP Spectre XT notebook – it made me think about my MacBook Air (we’ve yet to bond and I miss my MacBook Pro)
  • Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman keynotes, both were informative and illustrated the roads ahead.
