HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage is the industry’s only midrange quad-controller platform offering Tier 1 storage availability and quality-of-service features at an easy entry price point for organizations. Supporting both block and file data services, the system is available with HDD and SSD or as an all-SSD configuration capable of performing more than 320,000 input/output operations per second—2.4 times that of a similarly priced competitive array.

The key points of the announcement is that this solutionTier 1 storage solution for midrange markets bringing Tier 1 features to more affordable platforms:

The announcement is very cool, it will be interesting to see how customers receive these new storage solutions in comparison to their existing offerings, any innovation in storage, improving the accessibility and functionality of storage as a platform and in reducing complexity in management has to be a good thing, do check it out.
