Dell and Quest Software a smart move

I had read about Dell’s acqusition of Quest Software, the announcement was earlier in July and was part of their commitment to expand the business and bring further innovation to their enterprise solution portfolio. I was interested to see that this included Toad, I’ve been working with a few clients and colleagues around the city that have been using Toad for Oracle as one of their tools for managing and developing their Oracle databases.

Let us not forget that often the road into a small business, an enterprise can be that downloaded tool or software package which operates as the vehicle for exploring more of their products and services. Dell’s acquisiton of Quest will not only bring them further revenues and opportunities for more effective platform solutions and integrated offerings, but might also create further opportunities to expose the Dell platform to customers that use Quest Software.
