IBM Technical University events
IBM has a number of their Technical University events coming along, they do look very good and I’ve been hearing good things about them, (the Power one) in particular, anyway, you can read about them here and see which ones might appeal:
IBM System X – Technical University – features their new PureSystems solution – July in San Francisco
IBM System z – Technical University – very cool, features everything you need to know about their System Z Mainframe offering – Las Vegas in October
IBM Power – Technical University - see how Power can help with your Linux requirements and drive its consolidation – Las Vegas at the end of October.
These events are designed to provide you with an intense and consolidated overview of IBM technology comprised of technical and business topics, with interactive sessions with the chance to understand implementation and support best practices as well as future road-maps. Do check them out and register if it’s something that appeals, I read somewhere on the site, that if you attended last year, you can attend this year benefiting from a lower cost for registration, very cool. My preference? I’d love to go to the System z or the IBM System X one, I confess mainframes are not my cup of tea, but as a platform, they remain a fundamental platform for many customers, System X so that I can learn more about PureSystems and mention my ongoing love for the IBM System X3690 X5 their 2u 20 core high performance rack server, or their iDataPlex, both are highly recommended.
