Dell continues investment and innovation of their storage offerings

A brief summary of the new products and services announced include:
·         The extension of the Fluid File System across Compellent, EqualLogic and PowerVault lines.
·         The next generation Compellent array, comprised of the Dell Compellent SC8000 and Dell Compellent FS8600, which is designed to lower the total cost of ownership by managing a virtualized, scalable pool of disks to expand up and out across block and file data without forklift upgrades.
·         The introduction of AppAssure 5 to help customers continuously protect business information and move and recover data anywhere with high levels of scale, speed and efficiency.
·         New Brocade 16GB Fibre Channel Switch, the Brocade DCX 6505, which complements the mid-range Brocade 6510 and the Brocade 8510 SAN backbone

Dell is continuing to invest in the management features and scalability of their storage offering across their storage platforms which is great news for the consumer and competition in the marketplace alike. Of particular interest is the extension of their Fluid File System across their storage products, as well as their AppAssure 5 offering to aid in data recovery and migration, I’m off to read up more on the Dell site.
