How many drives for DL380 G5

Got a text the other morning, “How many drives can a DL380 G5 support”.

The easiest way to do this is to run the web agents or the diagnostics on the server, it will show you how many drives you currently have and therefore how many more you can plug in.

By default the DL380 G5, supports eight small form factor SAS drives, there are two main types to choose from dependent on speed, though there are SATA drives available.

You can have up to 8x300GB SAS drives (492620-B21), check out the DL380 G5 quickspecs, the server overview is here.
