Dell today introduced five new blade, rack and tower PowerEdge servers based on the new Intel® Xeon® 5500 Series processors. Dell designed its 11th generation of servers with input from IT professionals worldwide to help companies do more with less by simplifying data center operations, improving performance and, energy efficiency and lowering total cost of ownership.
The new announcements from Dell are very exciting and it’s great to see them launch not only new servers, but also new blades. Their continued innovation of their server and blade products has to be a good thing for the end user community. They’ve launcehd two new blades based on the new Intel processor (M610/M710) as well as their R610 and R710 rack servers. I can’t wait to see them, when I next get a chance. I read with interest that they are meant to be more energy efficient, include a new Embedded Systems Management controller named the LifeCycle Controller, as well as some improvements in the way you deploy images to the servers. I’ll need to read up more.
