There are a few ways to check if it’s installed and working correctly:
- Check the HP quickspecs for your model, in google type the server name and quick specs, “DL380 G3 quickspecs” should indicate if your server shipped with integrated lights out or if you had to buy a separate RIB or RIB2 card.
- The basic rule, anything G3 and above has an ILO (DL360/380/580), although the DL580G2 also had an ILO.
- Right click my computer and go to the manage option, now click device manager, there should be an entry for multifunction adapters with an driver HP ILO Management Channel Interface adaptor.
- Run the HP Diagnostics Online Edition for Windows – this should provide server information and allow you to run the diagnostics and verify the ILO.
- Download and run the HPoncfg command, it will query the ILO for it’s configuration, verifying the drivers and it’s configuration.
- Type http://theservername:2301 to run the HP web agents which will show you the server hardware and allow you to browse to see if you have an ILO.
- Reboot the server and look for an F8 prompt where it says “Integrated Lights Out Advanced press F8 to configure”
