FREMONT, Calif., March 3, 2009 — Rackable Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: RACK), a leading provider of Eco-Logicalâ„¢ servers and storage products for medium- to large-scale data centers, today announced that myYearbook.com, the third largest social network in the U.S, has adopted Rackable Systems’ data center server solutions to support its fast-growing web infrastructure.

Founded by two New Jersey high school students, myYearbook boasts year-over-year growth of more than 250 percent, making the acquisition of scalable and economical data center solutions a top priority. myYearbook chose Rackable’s 44U cabinets populated with Rackable C1002 half-depth servers to support its web applications, which serve a user base of over 10 million.

“Rackable’s proven ability to ship a completely integrated data center solution, pre-racked and pre-wired, gave us an immediate competitive advantage; we saved more than 150 man-hours right there,” said Jeremy Stinson, vice president of Network Operations at myYearbook. “Yet the overriding reason we chose Rackable servers to run almost 100 percent of our web tier is their extreme high density and low power consumption.”

Great news for Rackable, and it’s always interesting to see what range of technologies are being combined to provide the solution, do check it out.
