Sun launches Socially Speaking

MarketWatch

MENLO PARK, Calif., Sep 03, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Sun Microsystems today announced the launch of a new BlogTalkRadio show focused on social media. “Socially Speaking” ( http://www.blogtalkradio.com/stations/sunradio/sociallyspeaking) from Sun Internet Radio is designed to provide a forum for Sun to engage leading commentators and influencers in discussions around the key trends, tools and technologies that impact the social media space today.

It’s great to see Sun Microsystems not only reach out to the community, but to get involved in the debates. Hopefully we can see more dialogue with the end user community, more interaction to understand what the different user groups need and provide a vehicle for revenue generation. The more we discuss and exchange ideas, the more we can help each other empower themselves with the technology in terms of return on investment, operations. I wonder if we could see talk of virtualization – how it changes the way IT interacts with the business, how it changes the way we do business, but at the same time, how it can be the enabler to our business. How by abstracting ourselves from the underlying tin, we can have the servers, the data centers adjust to our needs, rather than the end user fit around the IT.
