Verari continue to evolve the blade platform

Verari

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - August 26, 2008 - Verari Systems, a premier developer of energy efficient data center consolidation platforms utilizing independent blade-based computing and storage solutions, today announced the addition of the SB5168XL DataServer to its blade-based hybrid server and storage system family. The newly introduced architecture combines an Intel® Xeon® 3000 series processor and 10G Ethernet connectivity with the highest storage density available in a blade server. The combination of high capacity, low-cost blade-based storage with a general purpose server is a powerful enabler for a wide range of vertical markets where data and applications such as Web 2.0, Cloud and file system solutions need to be hosted on a single platform.

That Verari are continuing to evolve their blade platform, to bring more choice and opportunities in the blade platform has to be a good thing for the market and the end user. The Xeon 3000 series processor and 10GB Ethernet could be ideal for some solutions in hpc or virtualization solutions. I’ll need to read up more.
