WEST KINGSTON, RI–(Marketwire - June 2, 2008) - APC, a global leader in critical power and cooling services, today announced that it received the “Best Data Center Innovation” award for its data center solutions at the recent BladeSystems Insight Driving ROI Across the Data Center event in Tucson, Ariz., May 12-14, 2008. The event attracted more than 400 participants including CIOs, IT directors and senior-level IT executives. At the conclusion of the event, the attendees ranked APC as the most innovative data center vendor ahead of other nominees.

BladeSystems Insight focused on the ROI, total cost of ownership and bottom-line benefits of blade-based systems for today’s data center at its second national, invitational summit on blade server technology adoption, virtualization and the data center market.

Throughout the three-day conference, attendees learned about APC’s innovative data center strategy and its InfraStruXure® solutions by attending the company’s Industry Insight Premier presentation on ‘Maximizing Your Virtualization Payoff: There’s More Than You Think.’ Attendees also learned more about APC by attending a case study presentation on InfraStruXure customer’s Bryant University and Sun Microsystems, as well as by visiting APC’s exhibit booth. During a visit to APC’s booth, attendees witnessed first-hand InfraStruXure’s open, building-block approach that utilizes standardized, modular components to fully integrate power, cooling, management software and environmental management within a rack-optimized design. InfraStruXure’s cooling solutions such as the InRow® SC, RC and RP, help support right-sized high density blade deployments. These row-based cooling solutions feature on-demand airflow and cooling that minimize the need for overcapacity and provide the required cooling capacity on-demand. APC’s InfraStruXure architecture works as a pre-integrated solution to address the cooling and power challenges associated with high density blade environments.

Very cool and well done to APC. Continued innovation in airflow and cooling capacity as a solution has to be good for the market and the end user, particularly as we try to extend the lifespan of the data center; to continue meeting business requirements for more services, more infrastructure
