HP today introduced the industry’s highest-performance, most energy-efficient blade offering for the 1-to-4-terabyte market segment within the Oracle Optimized Warehouse initiative.

The HP BladeSystem for Oracle Optimized Warehouse builds on current reference configuration solutions available from HP and Oracle for data warehousing. Composed of HP BladeSystem and Oracle® Database, this pre-configured, appliance-like offering enables customers to invest more time and money in business innovation, rather than maintenance, by offering faster implementation times and better performance, with better energy efficiencies.

Very cool, offering a platform optimized for Oracle Database applications could be of real interest to the small/medium business as well as the enterprise organizations. Whether it’s a vehicle for hosting specific database applications or a cross business line database hosting solution, that it can be scaled to the business need as the needs change, expand could be a real enabler for the end user. Do remember there are several such solutions out there.
