Bloggers are providing a sneak-peek behind the scenes of the 23rd Open Grid Forum, held this week in Barcelona, Spain. The bloggers will be part of a GridCast (www.gridcast.org) that allows readers to share in the excitement of grid computing, a technology that connects computers from around the world to create a powerful, shared computing resource for tackling complex problems.

The OGF23 GridCast, coordinated by the EC co-funded GridTalk project, includes podcast interviews as well as a thriving blog (http://gridtalk-project.blogspot.com/), and is being produced live from the 23rd Open Grid Forum, an event at which more than 400 participants are working to accelerate the adoption of grid computing to enable business opportunities and scientific discovery.

“This GridCast gives the impression that you are meeting with people in-person, on-site,” says Wolfgang Gentzsch, OGF23 Program Chair. “It provides a more personal outlook on all the valuable information, sessions and talks taking place at OGF23.”

Very cool, it’s something I’ll need to check out, sharing information, experiences and best practices on grid technology can only be a good thing for the platform, for adoption of grid/hpc technology. That we can share the issues we’ve had, the business benefits of the technology, resolutions to known issues, as well as maybe the sales pitch? How you manage expectations and delivery, how you implement grid within the corporate or established environment. Related to this what is good utilization? What matters more that my grid runs at 95% capacity all of the time, or that it runs 90% of capacity when it’s busy?
