Securing your server/desktop infrastructure is the cost of doing business, and can limit any exposure/risk as a result of exploits. Do check if your systems are applicable and start considering the tasks needed to secure your environment. As I continually state (and I apologize), the first thing your vendor/support organization will ask is if all the patches/hotfixes have been applied when reporting an issue.
