7th APRIL 2008: Telecity Group plc (‘TelecityGroup’ or the ‘Group’), the leading pan-European operator of network independent data centres, today announced its new Amstel Business Park data centre is open for business.
The new high specification data centre will offer approximately 4,000 square metres and 8 megawatts (MW) of customer capacity. A significant investment in the design and planning of the new facility ensured the project was commissioned on time. Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), the leading global consulting, systems integration and outsourcing services company, was the first customer to go live in the new facility. Several other well-known brands have already contracted to take capacity at the data centre including a significant agreement with a global content distribution company.
Alexandra Schless, Managing Director of TelecityGroup Netherlands, says: “Our new Amstel Business Park data centre offers a highly connected, secure and resilient hosting environment supported by some of the most sophisticated air and water cooling systems available, and which are designed to deliver greater efficiencies than the systems currently used in most legacy data centres. We are delighted the data centre is now open for business. We have already signed up a number of important customers for the data centre, and our pipeline is very strong. In addition, from launch we have agreements in place with multiple connectivity providers ensuring diverse, resilient connectivity in the facility.â€
Another article talking about a new data center coming online from the Telecity Group, an interesting read and it highlights that the demand for data center continues whether it’s shared hosting facilities or private facilities. An interesting read, do check it out.
