NEW DELHI: With the retail and construction sector expanding their IT infrastructure in the country, the overall revenue of the servers, a data storage device, touched $727 million (about Rs 2,903 crore) in 2007 recording a 24 per cent increase over 2006, a report said.

“The overall revenue for servers has touched $727 million in 2007. Apart from traditional sectors like telecom, BFSI and manufacturing, 2007 also saw the emergence of retail and construction as key demand drivers,” market intelligence firm IDC said in a statement.

I wanted to highlight this article to illustrate that the demand for IT services, for infrastructure continues in India (amongst other countries), that as opportunities change in one region, new opportunities, new requirements develop in others. The revenue for servers continues to rise, each region or market having their own requirements, their own way of doing things, do check it out.
