Fujitsu/Fujitsu Siemens Computers is the fastest-growing vendor among the top five in the worldwide server market, according to the latest report from market research company Gartner*. The company exhibited a record year-on-year growth of 17.9 percent in server unit shipments**. In the x86 server market, Fujitsu/Fujitsu Siemens Computers also delivered the strongest growth among the top five server vendors with 19.8 percent***.

Very cool news for Fujitsu/Fujitsu Siemens, there has been quite a bit recently talking about unit sales per vendor, who is outselling who, and this article is reporting that Fujitsu are doing well. It will be interesting to see if the top five vendors changes over the next few years, if we find certain vendors being more prevalent in certain areas – with the concept of ‘grid’ or on demand solutions could we find more niche businesses operating in these areas? We’ll have to see, regardless let the competition continue as well as the innovation, the more products and solutions we have, combinations of platforms running combinations of operating systems, the more we can have satisfied users which has to be good for the vendors and the technologies.
