IBM announced a new blade server with an embedded VMWare hypervisor, allowing clients to adopt virtualization. The new BladeCenter HS21 XM with the embedded VMware ESX 3i hypervisor will help customers accelerate server virtualization or upgrade to more advanced virtualization capabilities while providing a high level of reliability and simplifying system management.

Very cool, the integration of the ESX hypervisor might make deploying a blade virtualization platform that bit easier, quicker and less expensive, let’s not forget that the main challenge in deploying a server is the cost of doing so in terms of man days, particularly if you use a service provider. Being able to power the box up, configure an IP and join it to your existing ESX farm could be an invaluable option for some businesses. We’ll have to see, do check out the article.
