- World’s First Vendor Independent Virtualization Event Launched; To Take Place at London’s ExCel, 14th-16th October, 2008

virtualization.info, the leading virtualization news and analysis site since 2003 today announced the launch of Virtualization Congress (http://www.virtualizationcongress.com), the world’s first vendor independent virtualization event, bringing together the industry’s biggest selection of virtualization players, from the recognized leaders to the newest start-ups. The conference, to be held at London’s ExCel, 14th-16th October, 2008, presents an ideal opportunity for current and prospective users of virtualization technologies to hear directly from the companies at the cutting edge of their development; at the same time, in the same place for the first time ever.

The new event has already secured Platinum Sponsor agreements from the industry’s biggest virtualization vendors, including Citrix, Microsoft and VMware, as well as Quest Software and ManageIQ, two of the brightest newcomers to the sector.

“Microsoft is pleased to be a top sponsor of the Virtualization Congress, the industry’s first independent conference dedicated to the use of virtualization technology,” said David Greschler, Director of Virtualization Strategy, Microsoft Corp. “The Virtualization Congress provides a forum for vendors, partners and customers to collaborate on building truly dynamic infrastructures, from the server to the desktop.”

Fantastic, I’ll need to attend. It’ll be great to see what the event is like, to meet people in the virtualization space and have a chat with the different vendors, very cool.
