February 25, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — IT consultancy firm BroadGroup Consulting (broad-group.com) announced on Monday that as power costs continue to rise and UK data centers are left worrying about energy reduction processes and technologies, as well as legislative compliance, they will be facing more competition from emerging players outside of the UK and Central Europe.

I highlighted this article to illustrate the issues that we’re having in the UK with data centers, it’s not just a capacity or financial thing, some businesses are talking about the carbon footprint of their business – as we start going down that road, how long is it before I have to declare the IT?
