SAN FRANCISCO — Feb. 4, 2008 — The Green Grid, a global consortium dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems, today announced the delivery of new strategies, methodologies and process recommendations that provide IT managers with a new framework to assess data center energy use in order to gain greater efficiencies. This framework developed by The Green Grid is designed to educate data center end users on data center productivity, provide them with a better understanding of the key factors driving energy consumption and encourage them to reduce energy use in their data centers.
Do check out this news from The Green Grid. I’m genuinely excited about the work they’re doing in terms of energy efficiency. The more we can discuss the options for providing the IT infrastructure in an energy efficient way, the more we can find the right solution for me and my business.  The more we talk about the best practices, what experiences people have had good and bad, the more we can help each other develop the standards, the best practices – the way to virtualize, or the way to deploy blades etc. The forum sounds very cool, we’ll need to see what comes of this technical meeting.
