The contract includes the majority of IT services under the control of BP²I and includes the management of desktop services for the bank’s investment banking business in the UK and retail banking in France. It will also act as a consultant with BP²I to deliver a framework for future IT service delivery.

Very cool, many companies are outsourcing components or elements of the IT function as a way of consolidating costs or simply allowing them to focus on their core business. It’s an activity that is set to continue for not everyone but certainly many businesses.

How the stakeholders react and how ‘the way we do business’ is adapted for new ways of doing business or new business processes from the service provider is going to depend on many things, regardless it brings new opportunities in revenue generation and innovation which has to be a good thing.
