FREMONT, Calif. — Rackable Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:RACK), a leading provider of servers and storage products for large-scale data centers, today announced availability of servers based on the new Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processor 5400 series (code named ‘Harpertown’). Integrated across Rackable Systems’ broad range of award-winning Eco-Logicalâ„¢ servers, the next-generation Intel 45nm multi-core processor can help enable greater price performance per watt.

“Energy cost reduction and practical density are key issues for our customers today,” said Mark J. Barrenechea, president and CEO of Rackable Systems. “By leveraging Intel’s new 45nm multi-core technology, Rackable Systems can help customers accelerate their transition to enabling the Eco-Logical data center.”

Very cool, Rackable are an interesting server vendor, I’ve had several people recommend them or talk about them, (particularly in terms of switching your server estate to DC). These new servers look very cool, I’ll need to check them out.
