So I’ve been building up for a new mobile phone, debating an iPhone, they do look very cool.
But I want a Nokia E90. It’s the Nokia communicator replacement and it does look very cool, and it’s Nokia. I know how it works, the interface will be familiar, It’s not the smallest phone on the market, but I still want one.
I’m all ready, I’ve got my PAC code to switch networks, I’m prepared to sign up for the next 400 hundred years, however there aren’t any. I’ve been to CarphoneWarehouse, Vodafone and O2. The Nokia E90 appears to be in short supply. Oh I can log on to Expansys or the Nokia store and buy one today, but I’m not paying £600 for an unlocked handset (it’s £499 I think on O2 pay as you go).
So as I appear to be unable to get a Nokia E90, is it time to consider the iPhone?
But what about the 3G support? My Nokia E61 is connected to the Internet throughout the day doing a bit of article preparation the odd blog post, responding to emails, I already find that a bit slow, I don’t want slow Internet on an iPhone that would ruin it for me?
Should I therefore wait? Get a Nokia E61i to replace my E61? (I’ve dropped it a few times and it’s beginning to get emotional – time for recycling me thinks).
We’ll see, the decision can be held off for the next few weeks, in the meantime I’ll continue to think all things Nokia E90’s or is that iPhone… Oh I don’t know….

The long screen of Nokia E90 is tremendous for reading mails and editing documents. Also the screen of Nokia E90 is very clear and the keyboard is lovely to type on. Came across something interesting on Nokia E90 at

I’m still building myself up to it, I want one off-line you see.
Not sure – I am also in market to replace my Nokia N80 but still undecided but I will be staying with Vodafone and using my independent airtime provider http://www.3gcomms.co.uk they are geared to the business users rather than the high street customers.
