Desktop virtualization has a new form factor for delivery, the smartphone, thanks to Israel-based Ceedo Technologies, which today announced its Ceedo Mobile initiative at the TechCrunch40 conference in San Francisco.

The initiative holds promise in enabling road warriors to carry enterprise applications and data on smartphones and then access those assets as needed through a virtualized environment that boots automatically when their mobile devices are hooked up to a host PC via USB.

Very cool, the concept of being oncall and truly mobile are coming ever close, using a USB stick? Will need to read up on what Ceedo Technologies have to offer. Being able to have the mobile work ‘laptop’ on a USB stick could greatly reduce the asset management and operational issues of laptop ownership not to mention the security issues surrounding them, having everything the user needs on a USB stick to dial into work should avoid me having to carry any data around with me.
