SAN FRANCISCO, CA–(Marketwire – September 10, 2007) – VMworld, Booth #1228 — Neterion, Inc., the industry leader in 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 GbE) adapters for server and storage environments, announced that it will be demonstrating the industry’s first 10 GbE near line-rate performance on IBM System x servers at VMworld 2007 September 11 – 13 at Moscone Center in San Francisco.
This will be the industry’s first demonstration of near line-rate 10 GbE performance on the VMware ESX server platform. IBM’s 10 GbE adapter is powered by Neterion’s Xframe V-NICâ„¢ technology, designed for virtualization at the silicon core, which enables unprecedented virtualization performance. The IBM Xframe 10 GbE driver ships in the box with ESX server edition and leverages ESX enhanced networking support.
The result is near 10 GbE line-rate performance for transmit and receive functions with CPU utilization comparable with ‘native’ operating systems, thus enabling the virtualization of I/O intensive applications without hitting I/O performance limitations.
Check out this article, it’s talking about Neterion demonstrating 10GB Ethernet using IBM System X servers for virtualization, it should be an interesting demonstration and worth checking out if you’re at VMworld. It’s always good to hear and see what the vendors are talking about, it’s also a great chance to ask them some questions.
