Fujitsu Ltd has unveiled the PRIMERGY BX620 S4 blade server designed to facilitate system expansion and reconfiguration while reducing the workload for systems administrators during server consolidation.
The server, a key product in Fujitsu’s TRIOLE BladeServer IT infrastructure, can accommodate up to 10 industry-standard LAN ports, simplifying network design during server consolidation. When the server is connected to a SAN, Fujitsu’s Systemwalker Resource Coordinator Virtual server Edition V13.2 can handle storage, enabling plug-and-play configuration changes without affecting the SAN environment. Moreover, the new server works with both physical and virtual reserve servers, making a high-availability blade server system more affordable. Server consolidation is an effective way to reduce power consumption because computing power is shifted to CPUs with lower power requirements.
Fujitsu’s new server also improves utilisation and availability while reducing running costs, electrical consumption, and administrative costs, enabling customers to realise significant reductions in total cost of ownership.
Very cool, these new blades bring enhanced functionality to the Fujitsu blade server and more choice for the customer which has to be a good thing, do check it out.
