While I won’t be attending any of the Live Earth concerts live and in person, I’m pretty stoked to hear that IBM be cooperating in the spirit of the event by helping to host the LiveEarth Web site.

In partnership with AISO.Net, the world’s first and only solar-powered hosting company, the Live Earth Web site will be hosted using environmentally friendly Web hosting atop IBM’s energy efficient BladeCenter servers.

The 24-hour, 7-continent concert series starts tomorrow (July 7th, 2007), kicking off in Sydney, Australia, and then rolling across the globe with an expected audience of some 2 billion people.

Very cool, the article shows how working with the right data center provider, coupling it with the right hardware you can provide an energy efficient infrastructure.

Check this US Carbon Footprint Map out, has United States Interactive Carbon Footprint Map, illustrating Greenest States. This site has all sorts of stats on individual State energy consumptions, demographics and State energy offices.

Very cool, check out where your state is, and consider what changes/steps you could take from the energy efficient light bulb, the diesel car, or the lower voltage/energy efficient blades/servers/computers.
