London & Singapore, 20 June 2007 – International consultancy BroadGroup, has announced the first regional level Internet Data Centre Conference will take place in Singapore 27-28 September 2007, at the Pan-Pacific Hotel (www.datacentres.com/idca).

BroadGroup, who produced a report last year on the evolution of data centres across 11 countries in the region, found that competition at regional level is intensifying. The two most critical factors of Power and Cooling are however presenting significant challenges as user transaction demand is accelerating and MNCs continue to move into Asia. In addition, global pressures to reduce carbon emissions, curtail energy requirements, introduce green technologies and comply with a raft of legislative and regulatory requirements, now demands new thinking about the future of data centre businesses.

Very cool, data center power and cooling remain hot topics, what can you do to reduce your cooling requirements? How can we reduce the amount of power needed in the data center? There are many different ways, from switching to fresh air cooling, switching off or reducing the number of KVMs, to switching to DC or having an infrastructure that moves around the globe, following the cheapest energy costs, following the sun?
