Argentina’s fifth largest bank, Banco Patagonia, has signed a $592k IT services deal with IBM for application and server migration.

The contract calls for the porting of Banco Patagonia’s Control-M scheduling application to an IBM System p server.

This bank has outsourced part of its IT using IBM, IBM have been doing very well in this field, many of the banks are seeing the benefits of outsourcing parts or all of the IT support function, as we would the facilities, the cleaning etc, this can be uncomfortable for the teams involved, but it’s the cost of doing business.
