Treowth: IBM offers Cell BE blade server – QS20
IBM have been working on a cell based blade which is meant to give great benefits in performance, the only issue with this is that it uses a modified operating system specific to cell requiring your application code to be portable on to this operating system, the blog mentions it’s going to be the QS20, and shows the official statement from IBM. Often in the financial sector the applications are not easily ported to new hardware without significant investment/time.
